This initiative is supported by the Quebec government as part of the Plan for a Green Economy 2030. <\/p>&#13;\n<p>Six projects, worth a total of $235,300, have been selected to increase inter-institutional and inter-organizational research capacity in the field of innovative social practices (ISP).<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>These projects are part of an initial phase of ideation, exploration and mobilization to co-construct a cross-sectoral social innovation project. A new call for projects will soon be launched to ensure continuity and support the implementation of projects in a perspective of sustainable community development, while contributing to the orientations of the Quebec Strategy on Green Hydrogen and Bioenergies.  <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The RQEI and Escouade \u00c9nergie teams are committed to publicizing the results of these projects over the coming year.<\/p>&#13;\n<p>.<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Here are the six selected projects: <\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<ol>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Entrepreneurship in the biofuels sector: Challenges and solutions<\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>This project is led by: Marius Senneville of C\u00c9RS\u00c9, Alain Tremblay of Kemitek, Jean-Michel Lavoie of Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke, Simon Barnab\u00e9 of UQTR and Alexandre Guindon of 2 Degr\u00e9s.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Establishing a value proposition for green ammonia as a hydrogen carrier in a low-carbon economy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>This project is led by : Christian D\u00e9silets of CNETE, Daniel Guay of INRS, Jess Greener of Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Valorization of slow pyrolysis biochar for the production of green hydrogen. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>This project is led by: Ali Hakkaki-Fard from Universit\u00e9 Laval, Martin Bourbonnais from C\u00e9gep de Jonqui\u00e8re and Alice Friser from UQO.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Development of local energy ecosystems in Quebec: an overview of innovation in regional industrial parks based on the 5-helix innovation structure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>The project is supported by Simon Barnab\u00e9 and Youn\u00e8s Bareha of UQTR, Julia Frotey of INRS, Olivier Rezazgui of Innofibre, Olivier Corbin-Charland of C\u00c9RS\u00c9 and the City of Deschambault-Grondines.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Utilitarian and social acceptance of the mass-market fireplace in its value chain and among Quebec users<\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>This project is led by Martin Bourbonnais of C\u00e9gep de Jonqui\u00e8re, France Desjardins of \u00c9COBES, Ali Hakkaki-Fard and Louis Gosselin of Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<li>&#13;\n<p><strong><em>Setting up a community of practice to explore the potential for using forest biomass residues as an alternative energy source to hydrocarbons in the Gasp\u00e9 region.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n<p>This project is led by: Virgile Deroche of CIRADD, Pierre Kasangana of Serex, Serge-Thierry Lekounougou of CEDFOB, \u00c9velyne Thiffault of Universit\u00e9 Laval and Didier Haillot of \u00c9TS.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/li>&#13;\n<\/ol>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The collaboration between Escouade \u00e9nergie and RQEI was essential to the success of this initiative. The Escouade \u00e9nergie representative, Virgile Deroche, comments: &#8220;The funding of these 6 projects is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the synergy between technological and social innovation players.
